The subtitle of this reading is Glorify God in Body and Spirit.

Paul equates physical pleasure, including overeating and fornication, with sin. He seems not to differentiate between sex in marriage with sex with prostitution.
I agree that

your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you.

but I disagree with his idea that God doesn’t want us to enjoy the physical bodies God created for us. Paul wants us to glorify God with our body; that can be done while we enjoy our body!
The devotion writer reminds us, as Paul did, to use our bodies to serve God with love toward others.
“Affirming and caring for our bodies as part of our spiritual self-care helps us experience the one who created us.”

Treat your body as the “temple” of the Spirit that it is. A healthy and fit body is a body containing a healthy mind, ready, willing, and able to serve God and humanity.
