Deuteronomy 18:15-20 January 27, 2015

Posted by Ventura Dreamer in Blogroll.

God promised a prophet from among the people to speak for God because the people requested to hear God’s words indirectly. The prophet could be trusted completely, but woe to any false prophets not speaking God’s words!

A little history from today’s devotional reading: God established the prophets above the realm of the kings so they and their people would be accountable to God.

That is still true as modern-day prophets call us to repent, turn back to God, and be guided by God.
