I know I live a blessed life and for that I am deeply grateful. I have a wonderful and supportive husband/best friend, a loving son of whom I’m very proud, friends and relatives who like or love me and put up with my idiosyncrasies. I have a job I like most of the time, enough time to enjoy life, health, a nice roof over my head, food on the table, and beauty all around me.

I also know life can change in the blink of an eye. But even when times are tough, I believe God has me in God’s reach of comfort, protection and hope. I trust in God and keep a positive attitude, giving thanks and praise always for what God can do.

Blessed are those who trust in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. They shall be like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots by the stream. It shall not fear when heat comes, and its leaves shall stay green; in the year of drought it is not anxious, and it does not cease to bear fruit.                                                                                                                                      ~Jeremiah 17:7-8

I try to begin every morning reading a bit of scripture (I follow the Revised Common Lectionary) and a daily devotional meditation from The Upper Room Disciplines or Alive Now magazine.  When I can’t make the time to sit down and read, I look out at my garden and koi pond, watch my cats and the local birds and breath a prayer of thanksgiving, praise and request for help in doing better that day. I try to do the same when I’m away from home. Some days I’m rushed and do this for only a minute, but a minute is better than no time at all. It’s simply a reminder that God is watching over me and encouraging me to be the best person I can each day. No guilt ever, just a nice reminder that life is good most of the time – and if times are bad, those too will end.

As of 2015, I am writing these postings simply as ways to express my thoughts online rather than in a paper journal (they are piling up after too many years!).  I’m writing for myself but if you happen upon some of my postings, I hope they will be food for thought or might help your day be more positive!

Love, Trust, Grace and Blessings,
